Ok so I figured I would come up with a list of 2009 highlights. The sad thing is I’ve actually had to do a little research on this and go back through old blog and Flickr posts. I guess that’s what happens when you turn 29 
January 2009
- I celebrated my 10th journal.
- I made oxtail stew for the first time in my life. It was YUMMY.
- I took my first and most favorite night photo of all time.
- I made homemade fettucini for the first time (not sure if I’ll ever do this again at least not without the right flour).
February 2009
- The janitor at work left after 15 years at our building and gave me the amazing gift of TONS OF GARBAGE BAGS (seriously–I’ll never run out!).
- Took some adorable photos of my niece Morgan in her cute little button outfit.
- Our friend AJ stayed with us for a few days.
March 2009
- Cropped at Personal Scrapbook in Allen, TX for the first time with my friends and had a lot of fun.
- Bought a Scor-Pal which CHANGED MY LIFE.
- Tried an old fashioned egg cream for the first time. It sounded weird but wasn’t all that bad.
- Bought new glasses.
April 2009
- Izzie was bitten by a tick (gasp!) and was sick for a little while, but got better.
- Spent Easter at my parents house, but briefly went to the park because it rained.
- Lost a dear friend to cancer.
May 2009
- Aileen and Elaine turned… I dunno how old they turned this year. REALLY OLD I guess, hehe
- Celebrated Mother’s day at mom and dad’s.
- Went on a scrap shopping excursion with the SASSY gals.
- Was featured by Kristina in one of her weekly color challenges!
June 2009
- Jabari moved in (EEKS!).
- Went on another scrap shopping excursion with the ladies.
- We officially became an iPhone family.
July 2009
- OMG! COLDPLAY!!!!!! (This is the only time you’ll ever see me use that many exclamation marks)
- My cousin Mae gets married to Rico.
- Chopped my hair SHORT!

- I bought a MacBook Pro!
- I bought a very pink guitar for Guitar Hero.
- AJ spent another weekend with us.
November 2009
- Pacquiao won!
- My mom turned 74.
- Mom celebrated her retirement.
- Roasted my first turkey (turkey breast but it’s still a turkey right?).
- Thanksgiving 2009 at the Woodcreek Club House in Fate, TX.
- Drinkfest 2009 at Sherlock’s with the cousins.
- Bought a new sewing machine!
December 2009
- First snowfall of the season.
- Started my December Daily album.
- Sewed my first project.
- Had my first panic attack.
- Bought Izzie an Elf outfit.
- Missed out on the family Christmas Eve party but experienced my first white Christmas
- Hand-sewed some felt gift tags.
- Dad had surgery to remove a tumor from his bladder.
- Dad turned 70.
What a cool bullet list!! You have had quite an eventful year, dear friend. Glad to be a part of a few things on your list. And I have to say that I’m glad you are finally entering the sewing world. When are you going to start to quilt like your other siblings? wink, wink. Happy New Year!!
