Martha Stewart Gives the Scor Pal a Run For Their Money

I was browsing today and I discovered that Martha Stewart actually makes a scoring board of their own similar to that of the Scor Pal, except with a few tweaks. If you read my post a while back on the Scor Pal and how much I loved it, you could imagine my excitement. They’re also selling it and for much cheaper, and with some added features.

I do love my Scor Pal tremendously and use it every time I make cards. On the other hand, I’m looking at the Martha Stewart board and I’m thinking–narrower scores! That would be awesome! Still I think the only way I would trade in is if my Scor Pal broke or if for some reason I found a need for the narrower scores (which you can still achieve with the Scor Pal anyway) and the envelope tool (I don’t have any issues making envelopes as it is).

You can read the comparison for yourself.

How to Make a Simple A2 Envelope With an Inner Liner

Ok so here’s my first how-to video. Sadly the quality stinks, but hopefully once I get the right cable in the mail this week, it’ll look better.

I gotta say, editing videos on the Mac has been amazingly easy. I didn’t even have to read any manuals or watch any tutorials, but I was able to easily figure out the controls, transitions, etc. I’m still trying to figure out the voiceover and timing thing, but I figure that’ll get easier with practice.

Using the Scor-Pal to Make Envelopes

I LOVE MY SCOR-PAL! Probably even more now that I discovered how to make envelopes. There are a couple tutorials on their website here. And I found an A2 envelope tutorial using the Scor-pal here on YouTube. I’ve always wanted to be able to make my own envelopes, and for a while I thought I could use this Kreate-a-lope thing I found at Hobby Lobby, but I didn’t like the hassle of having to trace the template, nor did I like the torn edges.

UPDATE: I have a video tutorial on this here.

Meet My New Best Friend: The Scor-Pal

A week ago I purchased a Scor-Pal from 7kidscollegefund.com. BTW, if you’re looking for scrapbook supplies at a decent price, they are fantastic and their customer service is excellent. I originally selected 3-day express on my order, but they emailed me and said ground express would be just as fast AND cheaper since it’s travelling from Arizona to Texas, so they lessened my shipping choice and refunded the difference in a gift certificate :)

So anyway, for the longest time, the Scor-Pal was still sitting in its package on my desk. I finally opened it and used it on the last card I made. PERFECT SCORE.

You can even score textures and make small gift boxes. Visit their website for tutorials.
