For a while I was torn about the D40, thinking perhaps I would have to sell it and upgrade the camera body to maybe an older D70, D80 (even the new D90) just to be able to have access to a wider range of Nikkor lenses without having to sacrifice the luxury of autofocus mode. I spent a good portion of last night drooling over the features and specs. And now that they announced a 50mm AF-S f/1.4G lens, I think I will keep my D40 for a little longer and save up for the $400 lens.
