Getting My Feet Wet

Getting My Feet Wet, originally uploaded by krisalis903.

The first scrapbooking I do in several months and I workin a size (8×8") that’s new to me. It’s a slight difference, but not too much.

I’ve been working on my December Daily album. This is pretty much what my pages look like: some Christmas paper, a few photos, some embellishments, and sticky notes galore serving as reminders of where things go. I use scrap paper as placeholders for photos and try to get everything as close to done as possible without having to restrict my own creativity. I’ve noticed I’m definitely not using as much permanent adhesive as I normally do (unless i’m adhering something I’m pretty certain I won’t change).

But the longer I work on it, the more excited I get about this project and the forthcoming weeks of friends, family, and colder weather

There’s never enough time in the day is there? So here I am, finally getting around to posting a layout I started like 2 weeks ago.

I took this photo the first week Jabari moved in. I thought it would be a good representation of our lives finally coming together: a photo of our shared closet.

I think I’ve pretty much used up all of the paper and embellishments I bought last summer with the exception of some sheets. And now I have a whole new stack to get through. This is ok since I think I have a lot of scrapping to catch up with anyway!

So I made this layout using some of the photos I took of Izzie a few months ago. While I love the layout it’s missing…something I’m not quite sure yet. Oh and by the way, I have enough of these Thickers Shoebox letters to last me a lifetime so you’ll be seeing quite a lot of them in future layouts. I bought like 3 or 4 sets a few months ago when they went on clearance.

Supply List:
Basic Grey patterned paper (Periphery), Bazzill Swiss Dots paper, Stampin Up Soft Sky card stock, white vellum, Fiskars Threading Water punch, American Crafts Thickers chipboard stickers in Shoebox font.

Hello. My name is Kristine, and I’ve been slacking on my scrapbooking.

Yes, you’re seeing correctly. Here it is nearing April and I’ve just finished a layout for a photo I took in February.

Yesterday I spent the day scrapbooking with my friends. Actually, they scrapbooked, I just worked on a couple small projects I’ve been wanting to finish.

I think just being around that creativity and being in that store, browsing the papers and embellishments, was enough inspiration to get me to finish this layout.

I’ve signed up for National Scrapbook Day over at Personal Scrapbook on May 2. I think by then I should have taken enough photos to be able to do some scrapbooking :)
