SNOWMAGEDDON!
After last night’s tumble down the stairs, I was SUPER prepared this morning when I took Izzie downstairs. Honestly though, NOTHING could have prepared me for what I faced. Our stairs had been covered in MOUNDS of snow that literally filled the gaps between each step. Initially I tried to kick the snow off each step, but I quickly realized the snow closest to the surface of the step was packed on.
Eventually I got smart and grabbed a dust pan and scraped the rest of the snow off the stairs (with Jabari’s help).
Don’t worry, I won’t post all my photos, but you can find them here if you’d like to see them
Once we got the stairs cleared, Jabari, Izzie and I decided to explore the accessible area. I couldn’t believe how much snow there was. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that much in my life. Luckily the kids downstairs had already made a track in the snow where the sidewalk used to be. We walked all the way to the front of the building so we could see the parking lot, which was a sea of gray slush. Cars were covered in mounds of snow. I wasn’t about ready to kill myself out in the parking lot so we made our way back to our corner of the lot.
The snow was PERFECT packing snow. Jabari proceeded to build his snowman while Izzie and I explored the area and and took pictures of the things around us. She was having a difficult time navigating the snow since a lot of it came up to her chest and neck. Eventually she ran upstairs before I did (I don’t think she like how the snow clung to her feet like little dangling snow bells.
I helped Jabari bring Junior to life (we used a carrot, some charcoal, and one of his hats). It was adorable how much thought he put into the construction of it.
And of course, what snow day wouldn’t be complete without a snow ball in the face.

I’m sure the snow in the face was all worth it in the end!!
