A Birthday Card for a Boy

A Birthday Card for a Boy, originally uploaded by krisalis903.

At work, we’ve adopted 9 children from Kenya via Compassion International, a Christian charity that helps kids around the world. Recently, I just sorted through my card collection and pulled out a few select ones to donate to my office to send to our kids.

I realized I had very few masculine or "gender neutral" cards to be able to donate. Granted, in our family we have a lot of girls (although the next generation of kids is mostly boys–what’s up with that?) so I have tons of "girly cards." And, well, I’m a girl too so of course I’m more drawn to girly papers and accessories.

So this is my attempt at making a boy card. I tried not to embellish it too much for fear of making it overly femenine. Ultimately I ended up with a very simple but useful card for any boy :)
