Currently Reaching Astounding Levels of Embarrassment and Shame

So I’ve begun the arduous task of wading through my collection of CDs, converting the ones I really want to digital, and sorting them for sale or storage.

As I’m filing through some of these CDs, I think I can only attribute my having some of them in my collection to temporary insanity. Like this one, for example, the Garth Brooks album where he was parading around as some fictional character named Chris Gaines. Seriously? I paid money for this?

On the other hand, listening to the album I realized that among the duds, there were a couple of really good songs that I liked, such as “It Don’t Matter to the Sun” and “That’s The Way I Remember It.” And “Lost in You,” one of the more popular songs from the album, was a really great love song. It’s unfortunate that it’ll probably be easily forgotten due to the overall failure of the whole record. At the time, I had no idea what he was doing when he released it, but after doing some research this evening, I found out the CD had been released as a pre-soundtrack to a movie in which Brooks would play the character Chris Gaines and that the movie would follow. But after the soundtrack flopped, they dropped plans to make the movie.

The unfortunate thing is it’s completely non-existant these days. They don’t even have the album artwork stored anywhere for me to download and import to iTunes! It’s not even part of his discography on his website. It’s almost as if this album never existed. Hmm, maybe I should keep it. It might be worth something someday :)

Friends Forever

It’s oh-so-late but I wanted to upload this before I forgot. I used the lion and giraffe elements from Jen Martakis’ Wild Things kit that came out last week (SO STINKIN CUTE).

A Lovely End to a Lovely Day

A Lovely End to a Lovely Day, originally uploaded by krisalis903.

The weather has been so awesome the last couple days that we’ve had the windows open in the evenings. My reading chair is right in front of one of those windows which means not only do I get this nice cool breeze on the back of my neck, but I get to hear all the outside sounds: the distant train, the occasional plane overhead, and the chirping birds. And if I stay up long enough, I might even hear the sprinklers turn on for about 10 minutes and then turn off.

After making a nice pasta dinner for me and Jabari, I settled into my reading chair to work on my laptop while Izzie kept my feet warm. And then I read the latest issue of Cooking Light which had an article on risotto (something I haven’t tackled before, but am now considering).

Evenings like this one make realize how glad I am to have a camera to capture it.

So this week is all about documenting my life right?

You might not be able to tell, but that’s a sad me with a wet shirt LOL

You haven’t truly experienced excitement until you’ve dropped a large bottle of Ozarka.

This afternoon our Ozarka water dispenser was empty. I’ve had experience changing the water bottle bottle before, but none that was THAT full. I mean seriously, it was TO THE RIM. And unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) no one was around to witness my horrible defeat.

So I clean the water bottle and just as I’m flipping it over into the dispenser, water spills out onto my hands and causes me to lose my grip.

In a split second, I know, "Ok, I’m losing control of this very large water bottle. I have one choice, and one choice only: drop it." So I quickly move my feet out of the way and drop the darn thing 4 feet to the ground where it falls with a loud thud.

Of course, that’s when everyone comes running to see what happened and sees me with a big ol’ water stain on my shirt, laughing my butt off. My colleague Jamie tries to help me, but she’s just as short as I am and WAY tinier. Somehow we both manage to get the thing onto the dispenser, resulting in water all down the front of my clothes.

Yep, I think this ranks up there with me falling down the stairs in the snow.

Maintenance

8:30a.m. Oil change and brake check. I’m as excited about car maintenance as I am about dentist visits.

Dinner Shopping

6:30p.m. At Walmart doing some shopping for dinner. Decided to splurge and buy some rib eye steaks for the grill. Yum.
