COLDPLAY!
FINALLY after months of waiting in anticipation, I finally went to the Coldplay concert last night at Fair Park. My friend Steph and I have been dreaming of going to this concert for the last two years and we finally did it!
In fact, we almost weren’t able to make it. Juan hadn’t been feeling well since Sunday and Steph was beginning to feel sick too. I really didn’t want to go without them, but they were willing to give me one of their tickets so Jabari could go with me. It wasn’t until at 5:30PM–at the very last minute mind you–that Steph and Juan decided to go. Jabari was let off the hook (and he was relieved too since he hates crowded events) and then Juan, Steph, and I were on our way.
It was such an awesome show! The laser show during Clocks, the bouncing yellow balloons during Yellow, the confetti canons of paper butterflies during Lovers in Japan. Simply amazing. I loved that they went out into the audience and performed on small, remote stages there, especially when out into the lawn seating (we were so bummed we didn’t sit on that side of the lawn) but still–it was just awesome to be within a few hundred feet of their performance.
I rarely go to concerts, but if I were to ever go to only one concert my entire life it would be Coldplay. They put on such an amazing show that it’s well worth the traffic and the headaches.
